Dan the Man

Daniel took retirement after 
thirty on the street
he doesn't have a badge or gun
but he still walks his beat
 
The street folk all respect him
to them he's "Dan the Man"
he can't always protect them
but he'll do what he can
 
He'll stop to chat with One-eyed Jack
and wave at Tiny Kim
help Lady Mary cross the street
(her eyesight's getting dim)
